Just 25% of organizations are equipped to handle a DDoS attack

OPSWAT and Dark Survey conducted a joint study that revealed concerns from IT and corporate leaders regarding organizational preparedness. The survey findings indicate a lack of readiness for advancing cybersecurity threats, with only 25% of respondents feeling fully equipped to handle DDoS attacks. Preparedness levels for threats like botnets, Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), API security issues, and zero-day malware are even lower.

Many respondents also reported experiencing various attacks, including:

  • 24% experienced a compromise involving a contractor, vendor, or other third party.
  • 28% experienced unauthorized account access or credential theft.
  • 35% experienced a breach due to malware.

In addition, IT leaders expressed feelings of inadequate support from their organizations. These sentiments often stem from budget constraints, insufficient staff training, lack of technical partnerships, inconsistent security ecosystems and vendors, and a lack of attention from management.
